Back To School

I guess this back to school post incorporates everything that happened in September. Ellie started 1st grade, and she was a little bit nervous. Her school does kindergarten and 1st grade on one campus, and then 2nd through 5th grade is across the road. So pretty much she’s one of the big kids on campus….

Rollins Family Reunion!

Our last family reunion was in 2014. We all went out to Utah and went camping. There were 27 of us (with 2 on the way). This year we all ended up in Virginia so we could go to a huge indoor waterpark. There were 31 of us (with 2 on the way). Everyone arrived…

Ellie turns 6!

Ellie’s birthday was a big hit (for her) this year. Right before her birthday Michael and Summer came for the family reunion (more about that later) and so they got to be there for the party. In fact, we were only missing Jenny and Jaymie+family. So we did the usual things to celebrate. We went…

What Do You Do in the Summertime?

I had so many plans for the summer. I was going to teach Ellie to ride a bike. I was going to teach Ellie how to tell time. I was going to teach Ellie to tie her shoes. Actually I showed her how to tie her shoes once and she somehow remembered. So I can…

That one time Ellie finished kindergarten

And Ellie. She is the most ridiculously silly person I’ve ever met. She’s very smart and it’s been fun watching her grow since being at school. She loves telling jokes, making people laugh, running, drawing, coloring, magic, rainbows, popsicles, and candy. She hates vitamins, going to bed, getting her hair brushed, not being entertained constantly,…

My Sweet Potato

Malcolm, on the other hand, is easy as pie. He is super sweet and always needs snuggles. although he is prone to jumping on unsuspecting people, knees first. He’s taken to being a big boy very well, now that he’s (finally) fully potty-trained. He thinks that being a ‘big boy’ means that he’s grownup. I…

Clara Trouble

Clara is trouble. She never stops moving, and she’s usually going for something she’s not allowed to have. She’s a fierce little hugger, and Ellie is her favorite person. She can say: hi, boo, Ellie, dada, eye She can make the noises for cows, sheep, bees, and ducks. She loves splashing, climbing, eating, spitting water,…

The Week Where Lots of Things Went Wrong

The end of the school year went pretty smoothly, all things considered. Well, there was the one time a tree fell down and almost smashed our deck and windows. Luckily it didn’t smash our deck and window. But the rotten tree had to go (literally rotten). But unfortunately the day it crashed, Malcolm got a…

Party Animals

April is our party month. And boy do we know how to party. See what I mean? Will and I both actually have birthdays in April, along with a few other cool people. So we celebrated those, but we also celebrated lots of other things. We celebrated General Conference This chocolate chip bingo worked super…

Project: Living Room

For the past year or two I’ve had plans for our living room. Thanks to Pinterest and a sudden need to do a house project, I finally managed to get it done. (And by “sudden need to do a house project” I really mean “something to distract me so I have a good excuse not…
